For those of you who haven’t heard the term chiringuito, its translation is essentially an open air space that serves food and drinks, most commonly found on a beach. Due to Ibiza’s endless supply of sandy shores, it’s no wonder that chiringuitos have become a popular business venture on the island. What once started as simple tiny shacks, have turned into larger and fancier bars. Instead of providing a giant list of these bars and overwhelming you, we’ve chosen our three favourites and included some useful information about each. Whichever bar you choose, don’t forget to upload an instagram with #mysecretibiza – you might end up being featured on our page!
The Chirincana is one of the most unique bars you’ll find in Ibiza, drawing in a crowd of eclectic people that come together and create a great vibe to be in. Artists are inspired and encouraged to share their talent, so you’ll always be surrounded by live music – if you’re curious about the genre, check out the instagram above to see some videos of the performances. This place doesn’t only serve drinks, but a wide selection of delicious food made with fresh ingredients from Ibiza, so you can eat, drink, enjoy live entertainment and dance the night away!
Address: Avenida Punta Arabi s/n, Playa Cala Martina. Open daily, 9am – 2am
Es Cavallet is one of the must see beaches in Ibiza (its also nude friendly), so we recommend you kill two birds with one stone and spend the day at the beach, and head to the famous El Chiringuito bar once you’re a bit peckish and ready for a drink! Following in the footsteps of other healthy places in Ibiza, their aim is to create “simple, honest and great tasting food” meaning that the ingredients are locally produced and fresh as can be! This place isn’t open as late as Chirincana, so don’t plan your night only at this place if you want to be out till late. The good news for all the parents out there is that there is the little chiringuito area that has all of the toys and necessities that your kid/s could possibly want!
Address: Playa Es Cavallet. Open daily 10am – 8pm
Las Dalias Chiringuito
If you don’t check out Las Dalias at least once, did you even go to Ibiza? The answer is no – so if you haven’t been yet, do it asap! Also while you’re in the shopping mood, have a read through our flea market and thrift store article if you’re curious about any other places to get in your shopping fix before you leave. After you’re done looking through the little boutiques, head on over to the chiringuito to have taste of the typical fresh healthy food that Ibiza loves, and enjoy the hippy atmosphere only found on the island. There’s also plenty of cocktails and live music, the perfect way to end your day!
Address: Carretera Club Figueral 48. Open daily, 10am – 8pm
