Cala D’Hort: a charming beach and guardian of the magical island of Es Vedrà

When ALL is not enough
Cala D’Hort is one of those must-see spots if you really want to say “I’ve been in Ibiza”. Located in the southwest of the municipality of Sant Josep and right in front of the wonderful island of Es Vedrà, the views and the sunsets from this cala are truly breathtaking (and your Instagram knows it).

The beach is pretty, cozy, not too big, and it becomes very popular during the summer, so arriving early is always good advice. Couples, families, friends, locals, tourists… all are welcome.

If you go, aside from getting that sexy pic, try to disconnect for a while and practice the basics: swim or snorkel, take a nap, bathe under the sun and take in the amazing energy of the place… The Ibizan goddess Tanit, a protector of life, nature, and abundance is watching (legends say her spirit lives in Es Vedrà).

There are three excellent restaurants next to the sea which specialize in Spanish cuisine. Cala D’Hort Restaurant, El Carmen, and Es Boldado are famous for their paellas, fresh seafood, traditional desserts, and again… the views!

Es Vedrà is more than a special rock. It’s an inspiration of many of Ibiza’s legends. It’s popularly known as the “third most magnetic spot on Earth”. Its captivating presence and energy is something you will never forget. You can read a bit more about the history of Es Vedrà in this exclusive article.

In case you’re looking to explore a bit more, Ses Paisses of Cala d’Hort, an archaeological site of an ancient rural settlement founded in the 5th century B.C. is just a few kilometres away from the way to the beach.

You can only arrive at Cala D’Hort by car, as there are no buses that pass nearby. But another plan that is quite exciting is to jump into the sea and get there by boat. Check out this boat trip to Es Vedrà that visits the magical spot and offers a paella for lunch, an open bar, and snorkel opportunities around the island, clicking here.

Or, if you have the soul of a sailor soul, you might prefer an intriguing boat experience where you can spend the entire day exploring the island and its coasts, including the coast of Cala D’Hort. For more information and to book your tickets, click here.

Enjoy this jewel of the Mediterranean!
