Traveling to Ibiza by ferry is one of the best options to get to the island. You can carry all the luggage you want, without the limits of the airlines, it allows you to transport your own car and daily routes are offered from the mainland in summer season.
For this reason, below we tell you how to get to the island by boat from the three ports that offer routes from the mainland: Valencia, Denia and Barcelona.
Ibiza from Barcelona

Currently, there are three shipping companies that offer routes between Ibiza and Barcelona: Balearia, Transmediterranea and GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci).
The trip is a little longer than from Valencia or Denia, since it takes between 8 and 10 hours and, for the moment, there is no fast ferry option, as there is to Menorca, for example.
During the outward journey, from Barcelona to Ibiza, the transport is at night, so you will take the ferry around 21-22h to arrive early in the morning to the white island.
On the other hand, to make the journey the other way around, you will have to leave Ibiza in the morning to arrive in the afternoon to the Catalan capital.
Prices range from 10 € in low season without a car, and up to almost 200 € in summer if you go with a car and take a cabin. Although the average is around 50-60€.
Therefore, we recommend you to book your trip in advance so you can enjoy the offers . Also, if your body allows it and you want a more economical trip, book a seat instead of a cabin.
Ibiza from Valencia

Depending on the company where you find the best deal, a ferry trip between Valencia and Ibiza usually takes between 4 and 7 hours.
As from Barcelona, there are three companies that operate this route: Balearia, Transmediterranea and GNV.
The journey to get to Ibiza is usually at night, leaving around 10 pm from Valencia and arriving between 3 and 5 am on the island.
Perhaps this is the most uncomfortable option, since you can not get a good rest at night, but if you go with a large group, family, car and luggage, it is certainly the best option.
On the other hand, on the other hand, from Ibiza to Valencia, the trip is daytime and leaves mid-morning, so you will not have to rush to leave the hotel and go without breakfast.
Prices are similar to those of Barcelona, so, depending on when you get your ticket, you will pay about 60 €.
Ibiza from Denia

Going to Ibiza from Denia by ferry is, perhaps, the fastest option to get to the white island, as the journey takes just 2 or 3 hours.
Although this option, not having so much affluence and only operating a company, is perhaps the most expensive if we compare it with Valencia or Barcelona. And despite being able to take advantage of offers if you take the tickets in advance, a ticket can cost around 100 €.
The routes, being so short, are always daytime and depart in the afternoon in the direction of Ibiza and in the morning back to Denia.
