If there is something that characterizes Ibiza, it is its breath-taking beauty. Therefore, we invite you to relax and have a coffee, ‘una caña’ or whatever makes you happy… in some of the prettiest corners of the city.
Declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1999, Ibiza’s landscapes are a collage of architectural styles thanks to those who have left their marks in the past, and those who are living in it nowadays. Dalt Vila is the best expression of it, and you’ll find the best angle to look at it, sitting on a table outside in Cappuccino at Marina Botafoch. The city stands tall, reflected by the sea, looking back at you through its little windows… You’ll get the old fisher houses, the medieval walls and the cathedral, all in one picture.
Once you have appreciated its panoramic setting, it’s time to get closer. Take a walk on Vara de Rey, and you will feel that you are in the very heart of the city. Practicing a king salutation—just to be fair with its name, which was actually given after a Spanish officer—is up to you. The next stop, and only 100 metres away, is Plaza del Parque. Perfect to forget about the hours and have some drinks while you see the people pass by… Soon, you will recognize the authentic hippies of the island and there’s a strong chance that you will immediately fall in love with Ibiza, so you are warned. Have you tried Vermouth in Spain? If not, Born Ibiza is the place to do it. If you did, you probably haven’t tried theirs yet, so we strongly recommend it.
The whole square is full of terraces, bars and restaurants, each one with a distinctive personality. Madagascar is the best example of it, with its wooden chairs and charming tables. In a glimpse, you might doubt if you are in Ibiza or Paris… Plus, you will find a vibrant atmosphere at any time of the day and night through out the whole year, a valuable fact for the brave residents who stay during the winter.
The list is much longer as you can imagine, but we hope you enjoy our today’s selection and also feel inspired to find your favourite spots. ¡Salud!
