Casita Verde is an ecological centre that studies, applies, and shares sustainable living and alternative energy techniques.
Directed by Chris Dew and open since 1996, through the years, the original farm evolved into a modern and multi-functional ecological education facility, with the help of volunteers and supporters from all over the world.
Every Sunday (and also on Thursdays), Casita Verde opens its doors to everyone who wishes to spend a special afternoon on the island. Starting with a healthy, vegetarian menu served from 2 pm to 4 pm, you will taste and learn how to make fresh juices and infusions from local products including aloe vera and carob, make a 2-h tour around the centre and discover interesting eco information on how it is built and sustained and, if you have children, let them play and be entertained at the kids area. All this, smoothed by a variety of acoustic and chill music sessions.
You can also try their healthy skin and body-care products made with aloe vera from its organic plantations, plus other natural products from Ibiza. Or enjoy a relaxing massage and other natural therapies in the wellbeing area.
In order to comply with the current regulations regarding Spanish non-profit associations and fundraising events, visitors must sign up as members of Greenheart Ibiza’s Association, Ibiza Ecologic, when they come for the first time.
A one-off donation of just 10 € plus the addition of personal details into the official members’ book is all it is required, and it includes a free main course of delicious vegetarian food. No booking is needed to join, just arrive at the centre at 2 pm.
Located off the beaten track in a beautiful valley equidistant from the towns of San José, San Antonio, and San Rafael, the best way to get there is following the indications on Google Maps.
