Have you been to Spain before? Then you know that if there’s something that Spanish people like and care about, it’s food. Hot, cold, big, small, they like to taste it all!
Check out our list of the Best Spanish Tapas:
PATATAS BRAVAS
It’s simple. They’re hot, they’re spicy, they’re “brave” potatoes. Let’s not forget that a potato has half of your daily dose of vitamin C and more potassium than a banana. What else could you need?
CALAMARES A LA ROMANA
Let me introduce you to calamari rings. Fried, crunchy and ready to be gloriously eaten. Don’t trust a restaurant whose recipe does not include a slice of lemon on the dish. It is all about contrasts.
PIMIENTOS DE PADRÓN
These small green peppers are tricky. Yummy and hot, some of them are spicy, but most of them are not. And there’s no way to recognize the difference based on their appearance. Yet, the perfumed flavour, healthy properties, and salty texture are enough to give it a try.
GAMBAS AL AJILLO
Salted with olive oil and garlic, Pil Pil Prawns or ‘gambas al ajillo’ son un verdadero espectáculo! (they’re a real spectacle). Some bread and a glass of wine or a caña (a mini cerveza) are the perfect match.
SOBRASSADA
For meat lovers only—this traditional raw, cured sausage made with pork, paprika and other spices, is too tasty to be true.
I’m sure you can get any of these tapas at any traditional bar in Ibiza. Can Terra, Mar a Vila, El Zaguán and La Taberna del Parque are my favourites. Or you can also get fancy and pamper yourself with an incredible tasting menu at an Ibizan restaurant. The list of traditional flavours is long, but UNIC restaurant knows them all and exceeded my expectation. Sophisticated and original, it’s close to the beach, Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa.
