The Balearic society showed yesterday an image of unity in support of the victims of the recent flood through several acts that took place as soon as the tragedy happened in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar and its surrounding areas.
Immediately, businessmen and politicians of the different parties joined in a minute of silence followed by meetings to take urgent action in order to help those affected, including Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sanchez.
In his native island, the tennis champion Rafael Nadal shown his concern and support, opening up his tennis academy in the near town of Manacor as a shelter to the homeless, and helped the neighbours to clear the mud and water from their houses.

Hundreds of rescuers and soldiers with vehicles provided by the military’s emergency unit are working hard to find the missing people and restore the damages.
From Ibiza, we send our deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and all our love and respect to the heroes that are risking their lives to help the people of our big and beloved sister, Majorca.
